Technology is revolutionizing education, yet a significant challenge remains. Educators with deep subject expertise often lack the technical skills to create engaging multimedia content. The traditional approach to course development is inefficient, forcing teachers to navigate multiple platforms and resulting in inconsistent quality and frustration.

Through our user research phase, we were able to identify 3 user segements:

Through our observations, we discovered that course creation typically follows a cyclical pattern: content planning, resource gathering, content creation, assessment design, and refinement. Each phase presented unique challenges that informed our design decisions.

Although getting our user's profile was very necessary, it was a 7-step process that majorly hindered new users from accessing the app and greatly contributed to our drop-off rate. After discussions with the academic team, it was reduced to a 5 step process that only happened once a user had signed into the app. I also added an option for a users to the skip the process to be prompted later.
